Edition Guide (دليل الطبعات) is a community-built catalogue and discussion app for Islamic books. This policy explains what data we collect when you use our website (editionguide.com) or our mobile app, why we collect it, and what choices you have.
What we collect
When you create an account
- Name and email address — to identify you to other users and to send password-reset emails if you request one.
- Password — stored in our database only as a hashed value (we cannot read or recover your original password).
- Two-factor authentication secrets — if you enable 2FA, your authenticator secret and recovery codes are stored encrypted.
When you use the app or website
- Posts, reviews, ratings, and replies you create. These are public and attributed to your account name.
- Book and edition suggestions you submit. Reviewed by admins before being added to the catalogue.
- Authentication tokens issued to your mobile devices (labelled with a device name you provide on sign-in). Used so you don't have to log in every time.
- Language preference (Arabic or English). Stored locally on your device and sent with API requests so we can return localised content.
Automatically
- Standard server logs (IP address, request path, timestamp, user-agent) for security and debugging. Retained for a short period and not used for advertising or profiling.
What we do not collect
- Your location.
- Your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or any other device sensor.
- Health or fitness data.
- Advertising identifiers.
- Third-party analytics or behavioural-tracking data — we don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any similar service.
How we use what we collect
- To let you sign in, post, and review.
- To attribute your contributions to your account name.
- To send transactional emails (password reset, account-related notifications).
- To moderate the catalogue and review suggestions.
- To translate your posts between Arabic and English when you opt to view in the other language.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and do not share it with advertisers. We use a small number of service providers strictly to operate the service:
- Laravel Cloud — hosts our backend servers and database.
- Cloudflare R2 — stores uploaded images (e.g., edition covers).
- Apple App Store and Google Play Store — distribute the mobile app and provide crash reports for it.
Children
Edition Guide is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will remove the account.
Your rights
- Access — you can view your account and posts at any time when signed in.
- Correction — you can update your name, email, password, and posts.
- Deletion — you can delete your account; this removes your profile and the link between your account and any content you've posted. Public posts may be retained anonymised so threads remain readable, or removed on request.
- Portability — request a copy of your data by emailing us.
Data retention
Account data is kept for as long as your account exists. Server logs are kept for up to 30 days. Backups may take longer to fully purge — usually within 30 days.
Security
We use TLS for all traffic, hash passwords, encrypt 2FA secrets, and store mobile auth tokens in your device's secure keystore. No system is perfectly secure, but we follow standard industry practices to minimise risk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Material changes will be announced in-app or via email where appropriate.

دليل الطبعات (Edition Guide) تطبيق مجتمعي لفهرسة الكتب الإسلامية ومناقشتها. توضح هذه السياسة ما البيانات التي نجمعها عند استخدامك لموقعنا (editionguide.com) أو تطبيقنا للهاتف، ولماذا نجمعها، وما الخيارات المتاحة لك.
ما الذي نجمعه
عند إنشاء حساب
- الاسم والبريد الإلكتروني — لتعريفك بالمستخدمين الآخرين ولإرسال رسائل إعادة تعيين كلمة المرور عند طلبها.
- كلمة المرور — تُخزَّن في قاعدة بياناتنا بصيغة مُشفَّرة فقط (لا يمكننا قراءة كلمة المرور الأصلية أو استرجاعها).
- أسرار التحقق بخطوتين — إن قمت بتفعيل المصادقة بخطوتين، يُخزَّن مفتاح التحقق ورموز الاسترداد بصيغة مشفرة.
عند استخدام التطبيق أو الموقع
- المنشورات والمراجعات والتقييمات والردود التي تكتبها. هذه عامة ومنسوبة إلى اسم حسابك.
- اقتراحات الكتب والطبعات التي ترسلها. يراجعها المسؤولون قبل إضافتها إلى الفهرس.
- رموز المصادقة الصادرة لأجهزتك (مع اسم الجهاز الذي تختاره عند تسجيل الدخول). تُستخدم لكي لا تحتاج لتسجيل الدخول في كل مرة.
- تفضيل اللغة (عربية أو إنجليزية). يُحفظ محلياً على جهازك ويُرسل مع طلبات الخادم لإرجاع محتوى مترجم.
تلقائياً
- سجلات الخادم القياسية (عنوان IP، مسار الطلب، الطابع الزمني، نوع المتصفح) لأغراض الأمان وإصلاح الأخطاء. تُحفظ لفترة قصيرة ولا تُستخدم للإعلانات أو التحليل.
ما الذي لا نجمعه
- موقعك الجغرافي.
- جهات اتصالك أو صورك أو الميكروفون أو الكاميرا أو أي مستشعر آخر بالجهاز.
- بيانات صحية أو لياقة بدنية.
- معرّفات الإعلانات.
- بيانات تحليل أو تتبع سلوكي من أطراف خارجية — لا نستخدم Google Analytics ولا Facebook Pixel ولا ما يماثلهما.
كيف نستخدم ما نجمعه
- لتمكينك من تسجيل الدخول والنشر والمراجعة.
- لنسب مساهماتك إلى اسم حسابك.
- لإرسال رسائل بريد إلكتروني خدمية (إعادة تعيين كلمة المرور والإشعارات المتعلقة بالحساب).
- لمراجعة الفهرس والاقتراحات.
- لترجمة منشوراتك بين العربية والإنجليزية عندما تختار عرضها باللغة الأخرى.
مع من نشاركها
لا نبيع بياناتك ولا نشاركها مع المعلنين. نستخدم عدداً صغيراً من مزودي الخدمة لتشغيل التطبيق فقط:
- Laravel Cloud — يستضيف خوادمنا وقاعدة بياناتنا.
- Cloudflare R2 — يخزن الصور المرفوعة (مثل أغلفة الطبعات).
- متاجر التطبيقات Apple App Store و Google Play Store لتوزيع التطبيق وتقديم تقارير الأخطاء له.
الأطفال
دليل الطبعات ليس موجَّهاً للأطفال دون سن 13 عاماً. لا نجمع عن قصد معلومات شخصية من الأطفال. إذا كنت تعتقد أن طفلاً قد أنشأ حساباً، يرجى التواصل معنا لإزالة الحساب.
حقوقك
- الاطلاع — يمكنك عرض حسابك ومنشوراتك في أي وقت بعد تسجيل الدخول.
- التصحيح — يمكنك تحديث اسمك وبريدك وكلمة مرورك ومنشوراتك.
- الحذف — يمكنك حذف حسابك؛ هذا يزيل ملفك الشخصي والرابط بين حسابك وأي محتوى نشرته. قد تُحفظ المنشورات العامة بشكل مجهول الهوية لتبقى المحادثات مقروءة، أو تُزال عند الطلب.
- قابلية النقل — يمكنك طلب نسخة من بياناتك عبر مراسلتنا.
مدة الاحتفاظ
تُحفظ بيانات الحساب طوال مدة وجود حسابك. تُحفظ سجلات الخادم لمدة تصل إلى 30 يوماً. قد تأخذ النسخ الاحتياطية وقتاً أطول للإزالة الكاملة — عادة خلال 30 يوماً.
الأمان
نستخدم TLS لجميع الاتصالات، ونشفّر كلمات المرور وأسرار المصادقة بخطوتين، ونحفظ رموز المصادقة على الهاتف في مخزن المفاتيح الآمن للجهاز. لا يوجد نظام آمن تماماً، لكننا نتبع ممارسات الصناعة القياسية لتقليل المخاطر.
تغييرات على هذه السياسة
قد نحدّث هذه السياسة من حين لآخر. سيتغير تاريخ "آخر تحديث" أعلى الصفحة عند حدوث ذلك. وسنُعلن عن التغييرات الجوهرية داخل التطبيق أو عبر البريد الإلكتروني عند الاقتضاء.
